You'd think they'd demolish the monstrosities left over from the financial crisis and use that land first. On the BangNa Trad (just next to Central BangNa) there is a derelict half finished high rise that was abandoned during the 1998 crash which they have just resumed works on. It basically got to the shell stage and it was then left to perish, looking like the abandoned buildings in Sim City 3,000. Considering that it was just the shell and that the re-bar has been exposed for over 20 years, one would hope that they have carried out full tests to ensure that the structure is not fatigued in any way. However, as this is Thailand.............................................................. There was a rusty remainder next to Bank of Ayutthaya head office. THe front reminded me of Hirochima. All gone completely two years ago and now new activity there. Not really my line of work but just wondering if a construction left to 'settle' for many years can still hold the many more fllors (and weight) originally planned for.

Now perhaps you'll understand why and how that delightful English apple known as , ''Cox's Orange Pippin '' got its name.

Right beside the river, it was supposed to have parking for speed boats. A massive complex.

If you've done the Bangkok to Pattaya bus run you would have seen it. It's on the same side of the BangNa Trad as Central BangNa but about 1km back towards Bangkok. Below is a Google Maps screen grab of the monstrosity.
