Can anyone recommend an English speaking (preferably) dentist around either of the airports that uses anesthetic? I have to get a filling redone and as much as I like my dentist in Udon she never gives the needle even when I (or the wife) ask her. This one is a bit too deep to chance it.

Failing that I might try the dental part of Mission Hospital. Never been to the dentist there but I was impressed with the hospital.

Some years back a colleague had some complex dental work done at the Mission Hospital he was absolutely shaken by it. The level of care , patient comfort etc was he said better that any he had received elsewhere, and no pain as needles were used. Cost wise not expensive was his comment.
He has since returned to the U K and resumed his 6 monthly dental checks, when his dentist asked him about the dental work in question and where and when it was done he replied in Thailand. The opinion of the dentist there in the U K was ''there is no way that work can be faulted, first class and will no doubt barring accidents last you a lifetime.

My young one was admitted for a few nights under the care of one of the paediatrician a while back. Absolutely faultless. Might try the dental suite out.

Dr. Ray at Asavanant is very good. Though he's Thai, he was brought up in America and was trained there. Also worked as US Army dentist for a while. He's also young, meaning his knowledge is up to date. (It also means he always has a silly hair style.) www.asavanant.com/staff.php
