When I flew to Mexico City they lost my bag for a week.
Then, after five months of trying, I gave up on getting compensation, complete clusterfork of a customer service department.
Last week, first told me business class wasn't available - then lied re premium economy and I ended up in a middle seat ( 13 hour flight ).
Business class was available - tried to upgrade on-board ( a mere 380 euros ) and they couldn't get the card machine to work.
08.20 flight to Heathrow cancelled ( from Madrid ).
Transferred to the 09.10, they then postponed it. Took off at 10.30, ensuring I would miss my onward flight to Glasgow at 13.05.
Blank refused to notify their sister company, BA, that I would be late.
BA customer service at Heathrow airport was excellent. The 15.10 flight was full, they got me on the 16.55 flight with no extra charge, and gave me a £10.00 meal voucher. You don't get much for £10.00 at LHR but the thought was good.
Iberia need a good kick directly between the legs.

I always think in those types of situations, at least the plane landed safely. It makes me feel better.
Won't travel insurance cover your loss?
