Well I hope the US does check to see the planes are safe.
The government will ask the US Federation Aviation Administration (FAA) to postpone its July inspection of Thai civil aviation operations until Thailand has tackled all the major safety concerns raised...

I would like to think that the Americans will hopefully not accede to this request.
The very fact the request was made would seem to indicate that there may well be concerns with regards to the safety standards of the Thai National carriers aircraft fleet as well as its associated business carriers as well as the general operating processes and possibly the standards of the employees too.

The aircraft should be impounded at point of arrival, the log book checked, the ac checked and and a thorough pre flight inspection carried out before it is given the green light to take off.

It seems as if the plans to establish an economy airline named ''Icarus Airways has been put on hold for the time being by the national airline!!!   |

They have to find a better bonding comound than before. it seems the last lot was affected by heat. Still the Turks still claim the first international flight.  |

 no pesky IATA interfered when Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi made the international flight to the other side of the Boshporus. Most people would just use the Galata bridge if they wanted to eat fish sold from the boats as traditionaly the fishing boats did not need a licence to sell fish. |

How fondly I remember those days when one would put ones own plane together with shoestrings and so and fly from London to Paris in 25 hours and 11 minutes. That's assuming no important parts broke of, of course.

All successful aircraft landings are no more than ''controlled crashes'' truth be known.
I must say the pilot (S) of the plane showed exceptional ability in the landing their crippled airplane.

Certainly I recall seeing both Terry Thomas and Fred Emmney. The fire engine scene involved our local retained(part time) fireman in the training of the actors in the scene too.
