Access blocked. I wonder who did that. The DM is blocked in Thailand unless you use VPN, it results from the days when DM showed clips of a very senior royal cavorting with a semi clad female.

That was no "semi clad female". That was his wife.
Fufu sadly died in 2015.

Perhaps the op can find another source. Not saying the story is wrong, we all know about Koh Tao.

What about the chilling death toll of young Burmese in Thailand? I bet its a lot higher. But no one in authority seems to care.

60 deaths of young UK tourists over a two year period, most in their gap year, I don't know about anyone else but I don't find that surprising at all. As a percentage of the 1 million Brit. tourists who visit each year, the number is very small, plus gap year students tend to engage in riskier behaviour than older tourists. Yjis looks like a statistic in search of a newspaper story.

Its a daily fail piece so its sensationalist to say the least, and if one really dug into these cases think you would find your premise is 100% correct in most cases, have there been some "strange" deaths ? Yes...but one suspects vast majority, p**sed up or drugged up, riding motocys when they shouldnt be, falling off water falls when told "dont climb up there" etc etc

The truth of the matter is in many cases is that it's a case of, ''Beer in, wit's out. or other substances in, wit's out. I'm on holiday, I'll do as I want not as I am told, rules here like common sense don't apply to me.

I'm on holiday, I'll do as I want not as I am told, rules here like common sense don't apply to me. With some wit might never have been in. BTW using trueMove the link to DM works nicely. Not that that is an improvement. The headline has "60 deaths in two years" suggesting the last two years and continue with cases from 2000 and three years ago, 2015, 2014, 2013. Also a tat unclear how they got to the total of 60, maybe the number more than doubled after a few beers? Correction the 60 are 'unknowns from the period between 2014 and 2016 (which is 2015 only, or 2014-01-01/2015-12-31 or 2014-01-01/2016-12-31 ?), which saw a total of 1151 Brits die in Thailand. Obviously Thailand is an unhealthy place for Brits.

I read a lot about younger people thinking that common sense and logic replaces the rules. Except in most cases, what they see as common sense and logic doesn't map onto my concept of what they are....maybe it's just me, but I somehow doubt it.
