Does anyone know where in Bangkok I would go to purchase mother of pearl collar stays.
I can get plastic versions from Meticulous in Mega Bang Na but I have never seen any MOP ones.
I would presume that these are not worn much by your average Somchai but surely somewhere local should sell them.

While I have no qualms about wearing antique ivory stays, new ivory might prove to be a slight problem here. The problem that I am facing is there are only a very few shops that I can buy stays from and the only ones that I have been able to buy so far are plastic. Small plug for Meticulous, fantastic shop, I get free stays when I buy my shirts there and they have a nice bar attached to the shop, which only sells the finest single malts and the piped music is usually Frank. Well worth the visit. |

It must be getting to be quite a problem getting those whalebone stays for your corsets.

Yeah, I might have to buy online in the end. Nice stays on that site but their pocket squares are ghastly. |

One could of course ask the more elderly geentel ladies in the family if perchance they have to hand a spare set of this article. You could then the recycle the whalebone content and actually become an important supplier in the niche market for collar stays to both the Thai and foreign gentry here and abroad all be it not ''mother of pearl,'' sad to say.  |

Just use some lollipop sticks, the ones with jokes etched on would be best.
Whip one out when chatting up a young filly and tell her a joke, if it back fires whip the other one out.
