To continue the Cheese analogy,
A Pattaya expat is like that of cheese spread in a tube, not a real cheese has a tendancy to get messy and pretty much leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.
A Hua Hin expat - American cheese, again a fake processed cheese, which does look a little like a real cheese, and believes itself to be superior, but in reality, nowhere close to the real thing, a mass produced cliche of a product
But in both cases above neither come close to the likes of Asiago, real Cheddar or Pecorino, which never find the need to compare themselves to others as they are quite obviously superior products, dont typically conform to the cliched and sterotypical notion of orginating at one of two locations

I've just seen a recipe for a cheddar halapeno meatloaf. A massive slab of cheese stuffed inside minced beef. No wonder yanks are so rotund  . |

Well looking at and listening to the clip I came to the conclusion the presenter and bit players were no more than a collection of a regrafted personal sexual parts of the female species.  |

Which raises an interesting question, what is it with those all knowing, with one with their thainess, farangs who cant even say the name of the place properly ?...it not Pat ....tay ya... fking half wits...surely its the first thing they learn from their slapper ? i am no Rhodes scholar with respect to my Thai ability, but even i can say it properly... |

His latest effort, just head straight to 1:15 for Dan butchering the Thai language.
Is he trying to say,
ผัดไทย, heres a tip Dan, no Thai word finishes in D, any Thai word with a final D consonant is pronounced with a T.
ผัดกระเพรา, excellent stuff there Dan.

^^^ too busy running a media empire, doesnt have time to go to Thai school, not really his fault, he does live in a city where the majority of people he comes into contact with proabably speak Laos or Khmer as their first tongue.
Lets hope he doesnt go loso and start using an L instead of an R, he dont speak proper Thai like us Bkk snobs.

It seems common amongst all farang narrators/reporters on Pattaya media/Tv channels to pronounce it that way. You'd think after 10 years of living there he'd have spoken to some Thai people and realized how to pronounce it. At least he's living his dream though, how much did he buy TV for?

We as Westeners have a duty to bring civilisation to those without. Mind you, lately I wonder if we should go the the American Colonies to try to re-instill civilisation and culture  |
