I think a bit of wishful thinking, although no doubt there are 'cash' saving aspects to make it interesting for banks. Mind you, one of the problems banks are faced with is the multitude of new delivery channels without the possibility of getting rid of the old ones.
The suggestion that using your mobile phone is soo much safer than ATM card/pincode is hilarious. Ask TSB Internet banking users
