Ridiculous upcountry bumpkins story typifying Thai rural life. Or just following nature? Women in their early teens are very fertile. Sexual attraction at a similar age is very common. It's a puritanical ethos that forces young people to wait until they're older before bumping (not so) uglies. I rather suspect it's based upon a jealousy that the religious elders didn't have the opportunity for a big of young teen rumpy-pumpy and want to deprive others of that fun. Many years ago I visited an isolated community on an island off Sumatra. They'd only fairly recently been contacted by the authorities (and missionaries). They'd rejected both. There was a couple, both very young. She was pregnant. He was probably 14 or 15. She was younger. The community fully supported them and arranged for them to be married according to their traditions. I don't believe anyone was harmed in the process. |

^^^ excellent stuff, I wonder how many of them ended up prostituting themselves before they were out of their teens, after having knocked out 3 sprogs, the bars of Thailand are littered with these "Isaan Princeses" that no decent Thai guy from a decent family would ever consider as marriage material, never mind along will come some farang white knight to rescue these poor damsels, put them up on a pedastal and worship the ground they walk on.
I do believe the community fully supports the girls in the process, I do believe its only desperate mongers who are harmed in the process, the inter thingy is littered with such tales of woe, but what would I know.
