I don't listen to the radio, but today forgot to take my USB stick out in the car.
The songs shite I heard mostly sounded like chipmunks, then I heard this.
Who TF buys this shite, never mind listens to it.

Music is like a lot of the arts these days, in the past to make a movie one had to have equipment, finanical backing and some talent, etc etc...now any turd with a smart phone can make a movie, same with photographs, same with music... There is some digital shit on line to create music, one doesnt even need to play an instrument, cant sing for fk ?....no problem there is"auto-tune" software |

I have a theory that our upcoming generations are being groomed to love and consume crappy content. I know, it does not take much to convince people of this theory.
The better your content, the more difficult and expensive it was to produce. Of course, producers have always known this, so what is different today?
I think the howard stern show on E was a huge turning point. Producers realized they could pay essentially nothing, and have a hit show.
This is what we see on youtube! It is insane. The shit is promoted like crazy. Some of it is good, but much of it is shit. It is because, the wrote the algorythem to reward upload frequency (euphemism for shit), because they know good content wont be able to be produced at a fast enough rate to be consumed as profitably. Same goes for music.
We are being fed shit and we love it.

Every ten years or so since the mid-90's, I have had moments where I felt the same way as the OP. There's no good new music!
As soon as I gave up on modern music, something new and amazing came to my attention. It continues to happen. It's out there.

Years ago I ended up in some no name beat up joint on Beale Street, what a night, was like one long jam session, people from the bar getting up on stage and joining in, musicians dropping out to sink a few beers, went back the next time and couldnt find the place.
Some of those roadhouses in America have amazing musicians that people will never hear of, its a crying shame.
