Trump found another reason to cut of California. Mismanagement, but of course no details, nothing on what could or should be done different. Above all no mention of climate change. "Wildfires rage in California, Trump blames 'forest mismanagement' PARADISE, Calif. (Reuters) - Two monster wildfires burned out of control on Saturday in northern and southern California, having already killed at least nine people and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes. President Donald Trump blamed the fires on forest mismanagement and threatened to withdraw related federal funding." www.yahoo.com/news/malibu-residents-flee-massive-wildfire-five-dead-northern-012509965.html

I'm struggling to feel sorry for the likes of Lady Gaga losing her shack in Malibu, when ordinary down to earth folks have lost everything.

An episode of "Extreme Weather" A family home was severely damaged by massive hail stones. They were out of their house for 18 months, and insurance didn't cover all their costs. They had to borrow 100,000 USD. So i'm not convinced Insurance companies will fully finance damage to homes.

To be fair, even an Insurance Company isn't a non-profit organisation.

Insurance companies and banks all exist in the same parasites slurry pit. They'll give you umbrella's when the sun shines, but snatch them back when it rains.

I wonder how many of those houses would pass todays building codes? Assuming the multi-million mansions of the amply rich have been upgraded regularly and seeing that ALL houses in some areas were burned down completely I would say none would pass. Of course, my assumption might be wrong. Maybe the amply rich don't know, don't care or the Californian Building Code is still in it's 19th century form, or there is a proper code but no one enforces it.

Dash cam view. I was pondering whether it would be safer to stay in the tunnel.
