Emporium Emquartier is my favourite this month replacing Central Empty (embassy) Emquartier has a nice wine shoppe, sadly they haven't stocked port as yet I'm also waiting for a visitor to guilt him into buying Pierre Herme macaroons for his GF so I can sample a few of the dozen which cost 3550 baht.

Not been down to Emporium for sometime, I will check it out It's the new one across the street from Emporium which has also recently been renovated, all attached to the BTS and just down the stairs is the lovely Robin Hood/Dubliner/Royal Oak.

'Tis inded Mr.Toad
I remember it being built, used to see the lights at night so as the construction teams could work while I sat in my balcony supping a beer or two in Onn Nuch some 19 years ago
Known then as Seri Centre was the biggest shopping mall outside of central Bangkok at the time .
About a year or so later Central Bang-Na opened amd eclipsed the Seri Centre light,. About thee years later Seacon Square opened Seri suffered a bit but it recovered.

Ah yes, it was Seri originally and then changed it's name
Actually one thing I miss about being out of Bangkok is the shopping malls, particualry miss Villa Market.
The nearest thing that competes is TOPS in Chanthaburi, not excattly brilliant bit does actually sell a few waitrose items

Mega Bang Na has a few decent restaurants out the front which do passable Western food and imported beers and decent wine selections. Good for perving University lasses especially at weekends....

Seacon (among many others) used to be very good for perving when they had the beer garden with promo girls outside in the forecourt every evening and all the crumpet was forced to walk right on past, then the fun police seemed to go down on the notion and they all but vanished. There used to be good drinking spots at Central Bang Na and Paradise too...

Also has cheap stuff....and there is nothing I like more than cheap...... Whats an Orphanage cake shop? Dont think I have ever heard the term, where is it in the mall. Personally I like The Mall BK, check out the fish on the ground floor, those bloody squawing parrots make me laugh. As for cheap stuff, cant beat Tawana Square right next door, even has a place that sells kebabs. I like the strip of bars at the side of Tawana Sqaure. Fashion Island too big. Seacon too big. Paradise too bloody expensive and nowhere decent to eat, downstairs its all Jap and Korean food places, although the Mexican place is just down the road. There is a nice strip of bars at the back of the place. Central Bang Na too bloody big. Years ago I used to enjoy Imperial World in Sam Rong. As for parking at The Mall BK, I avoid it like the plauge, I park up at Tesco/Lotus across the road and walk. Another mall I like is Central in Pattaya, not for using the place myself, but the mrs and her friend can spend hours in there, suits me and my mate we can get on the p**s in We Are the World bar right next door.
