Bangkok’s lavish malls consume as much power as entire provinces 6 April 2015, Thailand, mall.com
The Thai capital’s newest high-end mall, EmQuartier, opened March 27 featuring brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Prada, Cartier, Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany, Fendi, and Balenciaga.
It joins more than half a dozen similar shopping meccas within a three-mile (5 km) stretch along the city’s central Sukhumvit Road, many of them boasting the same expensive brands.

How do they all make money?? Same same Orchard Rd, selling over priced tack for the HiSo. Bkk malls, where the HiSo go to shop, the middle class go to be seen, and the peasants and peons go to escape the oppressive heat and grab some free air. I can assure you I aint shopping, and as no one knows me I aint going to be seen. Check out Central in Pattaya downstairs in the foodcourt, the farang CCs come each day to spread themselves out on the sofas, just like digital pikeys lapping up free wifi. For even cheaper Charlies, check out Big C on Pattaya Klang, they go upstairs to Big C buy some bread, come downstairs to the foodcourt and buy a 10 baht cuppa, breakfast costs about 50 baht, then its off for a free afternoons people watching outside Mikes on Beach Rd, living the dream I believe its called. that's funny....sometimes I leave the hotel jacuzzi to go watch the peasants gaze forlornly into their cheap beer. When that gets boring I ride the baht buses looking for famous old friends....

I must admit for a moment or two I felt the pangs of a guilty conscience as I tore into the spare ribs in Tony Romas place on lower Suk, the window licking Teflr types waiting for the free governement bus to ferry them home to their scuzzy apartment in On Nut could only look on in bewilderment as I spent a weeks wages for them on a single meal. Then I thought, get a haicut and get a real job you pikey tawat, and for the cheaper charlies on their soi bikes I prayed they got crotch rot from their cheapo lycra clothing.

Agree with PF, Mega BangNa, lovely restaurant named 'Wine Connection' outside seating, good drinks, excellent food, great prices, loads of eye candy and a good place to spark up a Cuban. Also great view of Starbucks so while your chilling out you can watch the world's sad people scratching for a free WiFi connection.
Used to like the Villa at Paradise but they have revamped it and now it sucks.

I took the ex there for Valentines one year. It was funny as fook watching the TEFL monkeys/Boiler room boys queuing for the bus studiously avoiding eye contact with the ladyboys, glancing in with envious eyes.... A much missed venue...the one in Paragon just isn't as good....but has curtains to keep out the eyes of the pikeys....

Although I generally avoid shopping malls like the plague, if I'm forced to go to one Paradise Park is probably the best. Some decent food options, Villa, mercifully few microphones and speakers blaring, easy to navigate and some decent bars and restaurants nearby. Also, a big plus, no double-parking in their car park.
Mega Bang Na has some good restaurants in the outside courtyard area, it's pretty hellish inside though and a nightmare journey to get to it.
Worst of all has to be The Mall Bangkapi. Absolute nightmare trying to get a parking space, and then once inside it's your typical cacophony of speakers, in your face promotions, and utterly uninspiring shops and restaurants. Not a place I will return to.

Thats the exact reason why I park at Tesco/Lotus across the road and walk. Was there today, the place was full, the masses trying to escape Songkran madness and grab some free air. You are correct about the car park, back up on exit caused by the muppets manning the lights on Lat Prao road, can take about half an hour to get out the place, stuck up on 3A waiting for lights to change, to be avoided like the plague, especially on a Sat and Sun.
