Much as it saddens me to say so, this is not "Major Jihad". It's just a minor everyday inconvenience of living in Europe. Moslems inspired by their "prophet" are bumping off a few non-believers all the time in the name of Islam. And I think we've become so inured to this that it takes at least, say a dozen dead kafirs in Europe (and perhaps 100 or more dead Moslems in Asia) for it to be "major".
It's rather like the old Times headline (possibly apocryphal) "Small Earthquake in Chile. Not many dead."

Terrible, both the dead and the injured. Hope those fully recover.
The suspect is a 29 year old who was born in France. Homegrown you might say. We've seen that more in France, but also in Belgium, Spain and Britain.
As for 'major jihad', a tad overdone. Breitvik our viking who wanted to set an example killed 77 and he wasn't even Muslim. American kids easily kill two dozen and they still go to school for that.

Seems the prosecutor Rémy Heitz has stated today that police is investigating if the (dead) suspect had help in fleeing the scene.
Although some may say 'we have a right to know', possible suspects will also know then. Better to keep them in the dark while investigations are ongoing. IMHO.

I heard he'd been arrested 17-27 (?) times in various European countries and had previously been deported. True or not I don't know, sick of reading about these fools, just the headline will do these days.
Just to add, I decided just today whilst driving to utilize my white privilege and not let any of these kants pull out or turn, into/out of a road, every time I block one, I say in my head "white privilege pal".

Although some may say 'we have a right to know', possible suspects will also know then. Better to keep them in the dark while investigations are ongoing. IMHO. seems a fair presumption that he had help from his local community. Remember Saleh Abdeslam - one of the Bataclan jihadis, who hid in plain sight for weeks in his muslim community in Belgium where it turns out he has an 80% approval rating. EIGHTY PERCENT!!!!!!! Macron has about a 14% rating. This Abdeslam has a promising career in French politics once he gets out. Other news outlets analyzing this Strasbourg muslim terrorist's forehead mark, which apparently denotes him as a muslim fanatic. If you see one of these - run. French people are asked to search for a shooter in which one detail in the report is very noticeable: the dark spot on his forehead. www.telegraaf.nl/nieuws/2916216/frankrijk-kijkt-uit-naar-opvallend-detail-chekatt?utm_source=thereligionofpeace.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=/ French people are asked to search for a shooter in which one detail in the report is very noticeable: the dark spot on his forehead. The story behind the spot is at least as striking. Such a spot is called a zebibah in the Arabic vernacular, and literally means raisin. In reality, it is a dark, calloused prayer spot, which is seen as a ‘gift of God’ and is only for the most devout Muslims. The stain arises because Muslims pray five times a day, striking the forehead on the ground at least 34 times and making a stain or bump. That spot seems to confirm Chekatt’s ‘exaggerated conversion behavior’, a term that quickly arose on Tuesday evening after the shooting in the heart of Strasbourg.

Fair assumption but not necessarily true. The 'own local community' is of course a nice insinuation.
We've seen 'lone wolf' attacks or attacks by 2 - 3 persons only. The Manchester Arena attack seems such loner case although some people might have had suspicions.

The parents and two brothers of the Strasbourg attacker have been released as no longer under suspicion. Three acquaintances of Chérif Chekatt are still held.
