#1 Gaysorn Plaza has a pleasant outdoor booze spot with strong Jim Beam highballs at 80 Baht....two or twelve of these will get the octane flowing.

No stench....just surprisingly good value....the Khao San and teaching brigades have not yet made its discovery.

^^^ I tell you what I miss, the beer gardens that used to be outside the World Trade Centre, WoTec in Thai, as mentioned above, they were priced to keep the polyester shirt brigade out.

Don't go to Soi 22 ...the Americans have discovered it....put up a flag and are demanding Jim Beam.
I blame the Carl's JR by the Holiday Inn.

Anyone already visited IconSiam, the new all wonder shopping centre on the Thonburi side of the river? Free shuttleboat from BTS SapanThaksin, shuttlebus from BTS KrungThonburi. A must see some have it.
As far as I'm concerned a place to avoid, I'd rather walk through a graveyard.

Are they proper Yanks, or are they trailer trash red neck trump supporters? Jim Beam, lawd help us, those exchange rates must be killing them, more of a Makers Mark man myself. soi 22, is Dennys Corner bar still there?

More than welcome to join me and smokes for a tour of the drinking holes in the suburbs. Your posting style and use of the english language would indicate to me you have never suffered the indignity of crimplene trousers and polyester shirts, sweating your bollox off in front of a blackboard for less than a paper boy back homes salary. Should you wish to join us, I suggest you learn this simple Thai phrase, ไม่ต้องนั่ง, it will save you a small fortune and avoid you from being pestered by foul mouthed, tattooed, upcountry, uneducated 20 year old single mothers of two, whose only use of the Queens English is, cheep chalee, or kee niaw ( ขี้เหนียว) If you ever hear such a phrase, throw this back at them, kaam kee dee kwa kaam tort.

Thanks for the tip smokie.
They say "One good turn deserves another" so here's another...
If you are ever out on the tiles with a motley crew, NEVER ever accept a pineapple cube on a cocktail stick.
There's a high probability of it being a p**s cube from the mens urinals.
Saves you an assault charge amongst other things, like another mans p**s in your mouth.

My memory goes back a decade or two and Washington Square comes to mind. Some great little bars there and some delightfully good bad girls too. Surviving remnants of the original Soi Cowboy crowd of mine hosts and patrons. Had many a good day and night there and of course the old Dive Bar at the entrance to of of the back soi into Washington Square and wasn't Danny's there too or were they one and the same. Prince of Wales, Bourbon Street Josh big black American had a bar next to the Texas Lone Star other names forgotten, let's not forget the short time hotel round the back of the square either, name forgotten, now sadly all but a dim memory of times gone by www.bangkokpost.com/lifestyle/family-and-health/383728/bygone-era-of-bars-gone-by

rgs some of my best friends have been 20 year old single mothers. More have been 40/50. Well, sort of, more or less. But thank you for your kind invitation, my knowledge and experience of the suburbs is a bit lacking.
