Well, seems Trump finally admits that the American people will pay for the wall if only because he declared a National Emergency to rob the coffers. Strangely enough it's much more a constitutional crisis with a dictatorial president trying to bypass Congress and the Senate and as we all know the Constitution is dear, very dear to Americans. When it fits that is. So, sign a bill to finance government and at the same time sign the declaration of a National Emergency. so Trumpish, like his 'trade wars are easy' and his good relation with NK 'lil Kim. This will undoubtedly be dragged through the courts - possibly for so long that he's no longer president. Unfortunately, if it reaches the Supreme Court, which he's rigged in his favour, it could well pass.

I guess it all depends on the reasoning court may follow.
Is it the 'right' of the President to declare a NatCris, the duty of Congress to protect the American public from frivolous presidents? Should we just investigate the reasons given by Trump and try to translate them into legal statements rather Trumpy statements?
Some Republicans seem more worried that a Democratic president might use this precedent to declare a NatCris on guns and Medicare. After all seems more people by because of the 'gun crisis' than because of the lack of a big and oh so beautiful wall.
BTW whatever happened with the 'tea party'? Very set on constitutional rights they were and against immigrants from Kenya. Did they feel they are no longer needed?

Nothing to see here, just the normal shooting of citizens by other citizens and police officers shooting the perpetrator. All normal daily affairs. Solution is more guns, no need to call for a National Crisis on this. Now waiting for some to confirm that the major of Aurora is obviously a 'libtart' or maybe even a Democrat. "Aurora shooting: at least five people killed in Illinois warehouse Five officers were also wounded, police chief Ziman said The shooter was shot and killed at the scene ... “It’s a shame that mass shootings like this have become commonplace,” said the Aurora mayor, Richard Irvin, at a press conference Friday evening. “We as a society cannot allow these horrific acts to become commonplace.” ..." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/feb/15/aurora-shooting-reports-illinois-news-latest-updates-lockdown

The former European East block had an Iron curtain to keep people in. Maybe Trump's wall can be used for same.

It's TEN days ago President Trump declared a State of National Crisis.
Well, it came to be, one of the Kardashians had her boyfriend cheat on her again with one of her sisters good friend. Furthermore last night we had the 'Oscars' and Trump didn't get one.

Trump declared the "national emergency" on the 15th. On the 16th, 17th and 18th he was at Trump International Golf Club in Florida. Some emergency it must be if he can find so much time to hit a small white ball around a field.

Probably lost some of his Trump Special balls and needed to organise some National Guards to help search. You always have to keep an eye on your balls you know, golf balls that is

Trump just signed his first veto, using his son's crayons it looks like. Well, that's appropriate as we all now there's a National Crisis in America. Flooding in the MidWest, another one of Nature's Storms brewing, Mueller still busy. It's a real crisis for sure. media.zenfs.com/en_us/News/afp.com/d23d2ddb87ee249babc770441010a2cdcebc5540.jpg"Trump signs first veto to secure funding for border wall Donald Trump signed the first veto of his presidency Friday, overriding congressional opposition to secure emergency funds to build more walls on the US-Mexico border. Trump declared in the Oval Office that he was "proud" to sign the veto. It came after he suffered an embarrassing defeat on Thursday when senators, including fellow Republicans, voted to terminate his declaration of an emergency on the Mexican border. Surrounded by law enforcement officials, senior aides and people who have lost loved ones to cross-border crime, Trump said the veto reaffirming his power to get the funds without Congress was to "defend the safety of all Americans."" news.yahoo.com/trump-signs-first-veto-secure-funding-border-wall-070302400.html

Well, we still have the National Crisis (nicknamed Trump), but it would seem we've also got a 'local' one-State-only crisis. "Trump administration declares emergency in violence-plagued rural Alaska U.S. Attorney General William Barr on Friday declared a public-safety emergency in rural Alaska and pledged $10.5 million in federal funds to combat some of the nation's worst rates of sexual assault, child abuse and other violent crimes. ... Alaska tribes do not have the legal authority to establish police forces, a product of the sweeping 1971 Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act that restricted tribal powers, Native leaders told Barr in May. Establishing tribal police would require another act of Congress, the Native leaders said. ..." sg.yahoo.com/news/trump-administration-declares-emergency-violence-233126647.html

"Trump administration declares emergency in violence-plagued rural Alaska ... pledged $10.5 million in federal funds to combat some of the nation's worst rates of sexual assault" One of the country's worse sex offenders is rather closer to home and living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I was genuinely shocked when I read E Jean Carroll's account of Trump's raping her (even though she's not his type). I'd rather assumed his crimes (at least in the sexual department) were limited to lewdness and groping - not vaginal penetration.
