Trade Wars are easy our big, real big man has said a year or so ago and he's now close to a deal with China. Rumour has it it will be great, real great, and effectively not really different from what we had before. Still this will be Trump's Deal, so with some already into 2020 election mood that matters. BTW farmer's subsidies to help them while the China 'war' was in progress has cost US$7.7 billion till now. That's about one and a half wall. Also paid for by Americans. Next is the E.U. it would seem. Give Trump what he wants or else. The UK has nothing to fear of course, assuming it gets out of the E.U. "Trump to EU: Play ball or ‘we’re going to tariff the hell out of you’ US president says EU is ‘maybe, in certain ways’ tougher than China. U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday issued a renewed threat to Brussels that the EU has to "play ball" in trade talks or "we're going to tariff the hell out of you." "The European Union is very, very tough. Very, very tough. They don’t allow our products in. They don’t allow our farming goods in," Trump said at a meeting with U.S. governors, according to a transcript from the White House. He added that "maybe, in certain ways," the EU is "tougher than China."" www.politico.eu/article/donald-trump-trade-to-europe-play-ball-or-were-going-to-tariff-the-hell-out-of-you/

cost US$7.7 billion till now. That's about one and a half wall. Actually, no. The money he asked for only covered the cost of one quarter of the wall. The projected full cost is around $20 billion. (And if it were ever to go ahead, you can be sure the budget would be blown.)

Walking past the Dusit Thani Hotel this afternoon I saw that the metal framework setup the last few weeks was being covered with metal (?) plates. Real formidable looking. Same like the 100++ meters setup before, along Rama4.
After Trump is finished with lil' Kim and assuming he got some spare executive time he could drop by and have a look. Maybe an export opportunity for Thailand?
