The article would have you believe he was totally shocked to learn that his new bar was involved in prostitution and that such things are a rarity, what tosh.

I watched it on Locked up abroad. Not sure when he got here, but 33,000 isn't a lot of money. Some parts of his story seemed lacking in details. But what is it with some expats? They've never worked behind a bar, but think they can run a business. I met a young guy in Phuket. He had a small bar in a bar alley down the South end of Paying. Reading between the lines, he was laundering money for his old man.
