Just read this about
"CHON BURI: A severe thunderstorm dropped pounding rain on Pattaya, causing flooding in many areas with water over one metre deep in places, on Tuesday afternoon.More than two hours of torrential rain...

Sunday late afternoon there was a sudden wind in Bangkok but no rain. Still a reminder that the rainy season is nearing and end of next week we've got Songkhran!

I wouldn't say it was even two hours, closer to one, and I've seen heavier rain. But it was no fun walking through ankle deep (and occasionally knee deep) dirty water afterwards.
Would not like to have been where it was a metre deep. Just as well the drains were all sorted a while ago.

Possibly this little gem from Bangkok Jack may throw some light on the reason for the recent and no doubt further swamping events of Pattaya due to the inclement weather. PS a ditty for rott is included to commemorate his paddling in Pattaya. bangkokjack.com/2019/04/02/reason-pattaya-keeps-flooding
