Reading through news reports from a number of sources around the world as well as this region it would seem that the whole murderous campaign is indeed cast in the mold of the Islamic extremist groups. One does begin to wonder concerning the recent incidents around the world if there is a planned upsurge in the campaign against those who do not submit to the evils of Islam.

Given that two of the suicide bombers have been named as Zahran Hashim and Abu Mohammad this would indeed appear to be Moslems carrying out the will of their "god". Allahu Akhbar!

And it appears that my desire to wait until there was additional information didn't need to go too long as the information from today is sadly resounding. Now it just remains to be seen if they were funded by the usual group in Pakistan. If so, this isn't going to be pretty. The Indian election has latched onto this and the election doesn't finish until May 19. Indian nationalists are reminding voters about the EU's friends in Pakistan.

The video showing one of the bombers making his way to the church. Pats a young girl on the head. Then calmly makes his way into the middle of the building, left me astonished. It also turns out they were middle class and educated people, at least one woman. 359 dead.

While some here were defending that ordinary white male who just shot 50 people in Christchurch I will not defend the attackers in SriLanka, even if they are 'well educated' or as some have it even British educated.
Murderers.
BTW didn't a big, real big loudmouth in America declare ISIS defeated, crushed, annihilated? Maybe he should fold the 'mission accomplished' banner and store it for a bit longer. Of course I doubt he will like to be reminded that his own Security organisations told him so.

Sri Lankan muslims now getting the victim card out, while Bhuddist monks give prayers for the dead at the victims homes. After the New Zealand tragedy there was an outpouring of "white" guilt as thousands of people took to the streets expressing their sorrow and solidarity with the muslim community. The NZ PM was front and center. The solidarity events took place in almost all western countries. Nice sentiments and I certainly would not ridicule those who participated as one can only stop violence by standing united against those who espouse such views. However, I have yet to see any display of sorrow or sympathy in the streets of Lahore, or Riyadh or Dubai or Jakarta etc. Nor have any muslims rushed forward to express solidarity with the wounded Sri Lankan Christian community. Not one word from the muslim community as to the wrongful act, but the propaganda networks like Al-Jizz and Iran's PressTV are quick to blame Christians and the west for this. Draw your own conclusions, I have drawn mine.

The outpour of grief and solidarity as expressed by some countries is indeed rather subdued and more formal than being an expression of sorrow and/or outrage by the people there. "The United Arab Emirates have called for international solidarity against terrorism. And the minister of foreign affairs of Bahrain emphasised: "we are in one position with Sri Lanka and its people who are our brothers and sisters in these difficult moments." Kuwait also denounced the "criminal acts" against Sri Lanka that are contrary to all human values. Moreover, Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayeb, Sheikh of al-Azhar and head of the Muslims Council of Elders, condemned the bombings. "I do not imagine an individual who might target the safety of those on their feast day. These terrorists have contradicted the teachings of all religions. I call on the victims' families to be patient and to be cured," he said. The World Council of Muslim Communities criticized the "terrorist bombings" that were targeting places of worship in Sri Lanka. Jordan also rebuked the "terrorist bombings" in Colombo and affirms its solidarity with the Sri Lankan government and people." 7dnews.com/news/world-condemns-bloody-attacks-in-sri-lanka-and-declares-solidarity

Moreover, Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayeb, Sheikh of al-Azhar and head of the Muslims Council of Elders ... "... These terrorists have contradicted the teachings of all religions." Classic example of taqiya (lying to non-Moslems to protect the image of Islam). Slaughter of the kafir is a key teaching of Islam, both as stated in the Koran (the literal word of Allah) and Hadith, and in the example of Islam's perfect role model, Mohammed. Had he stated "all religions except Islam", then he would have been closer to the truth.

Someone needs to start a pharmaceutical business in the Middle East, it seems copious amounts of Risperidone are needed to treat the population. Niche market for an entrepreneur. Where can one purchase this product, seems a winner. Side effects no worse than anti-histamines. Must get an opinion from Sheryl.

Platitudes galore yet no religious freedoms from those described above as Islamic leaders etc offering sympathy for the martyred Christians of Sri Lanka. martyred Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Agnostics and Atheists. Only the first of these are "people of the book" that Moslems believe worship the same "god" as they do*, so deserve a little consideration**. The others are incontrovertibly death-worthy according to Islam, so deserve no freedoms whatsoever. * Islam's "god" started out as a pagan moon god, so has absolutely nothing in common with the "god" of Jews and Christians. It was simply a convenient lie for Mohammed to make it easier for people to convert to his religion. ** That consideration being, if you want to live, convert to Islam, flee the Islamic world, or (if you want to remain) pay an onerous tax (jizya).
