I've just installed Opera because Firefox no longer supports any of the add-ons I used, it disabled them without asking.
Does anyone know any useful add-ons?

Bit late now, I've happily used FF for years but prefer Opera.
Got the hang of it pretty quickly, all the same add-ons I use are available.
One nice feature is the 'Flow' feature, where you can add things in there links, notes etc... and they appear on your phone (if you use opera touch).

ALERT, ALERT, easy fix possible for Firefox extension problem. Fix shown at the bottom of this post.
OK, I am officially AWOL at this moment but I also had the Firefox extension problem as well, so I thought that I should share my experience/findings on this matter with my fellow Mangoes.
I did a few searches and found the cause to the problem and the websites that talk about the Firefox team rolling out a fix (very shortly) but I did not see the fix happening. In fact I can find no further updates from Firefox.
I had previously had a problem with my back-up browser (Google Chrome) in which the browser was bombarded with pop up ads, even though I had ad-block plus and other security measures in place. To stop this happening I ran a pop up remover (can’t remember which one, possibly Ad-Aware or the likes) and removed the browser completely. After that I could not reinstall Chrome.
Therefore, when the Firefox extension problem occurred I downloaded and installed Opera. Many moons ago I was an Opera user but changed to Firefox after encountering too many problems. However, I have to say that I am presently surprised with the modern day version of Opera. It is fairly identical to Firefox, so swapping over was a breeze.
Apart from this latest issue and the constant update messages I have never previously had problems with Firefox but the current version of Opera feels so good to use that I will now keep Firefox as my back-up browser.
Not wanting to completely give up on Firefox, I did a new search on the problem and found a fix, which is labelled as a ‘temporary fix’, as the next updated version should have the fix built in.
To carry out the fix, carry out the following procedure: 1: In the Firefox address bar type in about:config 2: Click on the button which says I’ll be careful, I promise 3. Then in the search box that appears below the address bar, type in xpinstall.signatures.required 4. Double click the line xpinstall.signatures.required that shows in the search result, to change the value to false, then restart Firefox
Not my fix but one found on the interweb, hope that it helps you all.

'xpinstall'? I guess the variable got that name a few generations ago and no one bothered to rename it. It's not really important, the name that is, but once documented changing names is a real bother.
So, the bypass for a signature problem is simply disabling asking/checking/verifying the signature of an add-in. Makes sense, to some that is.
I'm a reasonably happy opera user myself. There was a short period I was less thrilled when between version 12 and 15/16 Opera decided to go 'mobile' resulting in something unworkable on a normal desktop/notebook. Seems they were really surprised some people complained, but there were enough old stoogies around to make a clear voice.

OK latest update:
Got home, went to apply fix to the Firefox browser on my home PC but as soon as I started up Firefox I got a browser update alert. Downloaded and initiated the update and everything is now back to normal.
New version of Firefox is 66.0.4.
