Just started watching Season 2 of this. Mrs Smile and I enjoy it. It's based on a South Korean series of the same name.
------------------------------------------ Something that jumps out at me though is whether it really refelcts the demographics in the US medical profession or just overly PC attitudes strayed over the line into discrimination
Among the main characters: Lots of female doctors. Asian dosctors. Black doctors. Latino doctors.
What's missing is white male doctors. OK the protagonist is a white male. But he's there because he has autism and savant syndrome. Presumably he's white so we're not labelling any minority
Apart from him, there's only one main character who is a white male. I'm pretty sure he's there because he's Jewish to cater to that minority.
Have to give them marks for diversity and inclusion. But sadly they've strayed too far in my view. No other positive role models for white male kids unless they're Jewish.
The "bad guys" we see in the life of patients etc, or passing story lines tend to be white males

Funny, never actually noticed the lack of diversity until you mentioned it. Mrs88 has the show/repeats on the whole time. I like the other medical show more on the same channel - cant remember the name. Also the autopsy shows with Dr Michael Hunter are great and informative. . What would be interesting is if the original Korean show does not have a single ethnic Korean? I mean, Asians are not deeply ashamed and hateful of their own race like the PC west has become. I'll bet the majority of the actors in the Korean show are Korean. Anyone?

What with America the Land of the Immigrants one should not be surprised to see immigrants in an American soap series. I understand that you hardly ever see Native Americans.

Possibly because when you go to the USA you hardly ever see Native Americans. Well, that would explain why you only see immigrants and their offspring. Rumour has it one of them is even playing POTUS

There's an emjoi for that Why is that emoji better than what I did? Good question. Since you use a mobile as input device you should also know the answer

In the first place though, time I ceased posting after alcohol. As I say regularly.

As I say regularly. The emoji have come up because with a single, small image a lot could be expressed. More than you could type in a 140 character twit or SMS. Also in the 'early' days you could type the simple emojs with one, two or three characters rather than your "yawn zzzz". Blame it on people getting lazy. PS are you old enough to remember the wonderful progress in television? From black& white to colourish to colour, from small screen to bigger and bigger only to see people now staring at their 5 inch mobile screen watching a movie in 4k HD?
