Quietish today on here.
Bloody hot again after a few cooler days and some welcome cloud and rain.
Anyway about 5.45 I will stroll down the soi for a few drinks (with my bar room boozing partner as TVF requires us to describe these people) and either a pork steak or pad pak ruam. Feeling quite virtuous as it will be the first beer since Sunday. Well, ignoring the one I had last night. And safely home by 8.30 or 9.00. Ah the joys of the simple small town life.
Anyone else got anything to top that?

Anyone else got anything to top that?Yes the price, at my local watering hole, large Leos 58 baht, free ice, self service on the ice. Small town life in Bkk, many think its a large city, its nothing more than a collection of small villages joined together, I see the same, whether its up my way, or Klong Tan, On Nut, or Pra Pradaeng. 5.45 is a favourite perving time of mine, watching as the office workers in their business suits come home, and the soi cowboy slappers make their way to peddle their wares, the office workers alight from the song taew in a ladylike fashion, the slappers usually have a mobile in one hand, a fag in the other and a bottle of spy wine cooler in a plastic bag complete with the ubiquitous straw hanging from their wrist, its like beauty and the beast. |

Anyway back early from the pub/caff, full of bonhomie, joy and goodwill. Had the chicken steak not the others, but where do these gits get their prices from? 49 baht for a fair size bit of chicken, a few oven chips and some salad.
And still they cannot come up with a correct bill/bin. This time the mistake was to my benefit. 229 + 60 = 269. Er no sorry doll that should be 289. There was only the two of us there for two hours so not exactly under pressure. A family came in as I was leaving so hope they coped better with them. The food is very professional though.
So nobody on here looking for a fight then? Ok I'll be off.

I must have been typing as you were posting rgs. 58 for a Leo? That is taking advantage.
We pay 60 for a Huntsman wheat beer 4% abv free ice. I know, I know but the hangovers come too thick and fast, I still like drinking but like to know that I won't be a mong in the morning.
The current Friday night venue only does the usual beers, but you might like this:-
Bucket of 3 large Leo 169.
Special promotion before 8 pm, 4 large Leo for price of 3. !!!!!!!! Effing joke or what.
I do come close to groping the Pad Thai lady on the way home but so far no harm done.
How old am I again???.......FFS

A friend of this forum was up my way last month, we quaffed 10 large Leos betwen us, how much he said, 600 baht I replied, what each he asked, dont be a effin idiot, total, and the bill has been taken care of. We sat for a few hours, werent pestered by grannies in schoolgirl outfits asking for ladydrinks, the words cheep chalee, kee niaw, kee nok were never heard, no effin idiots trying to sell us wiagra, ban ray sunnies, dvds etc etc.

Anyway its a day at the coalface today then an intruiging Oakham Ales takeover of the six pumps at my local watering hole tonight.

When I said fight, obviously I meant intellectual discourse. The camaraderie on here is second to none, a true brotherhood, to think people interpreted my comment differently takes the shine off my day.
Possibly I will go off to a strict meditation wat for a month and consider my approach to the world.
