"Three small blasts hit Bangkok as city hosts major security meeting BANGKOK (Reuters) - Three small explosions, one possibly a homemade bomb, injured three people in Bangkok on Friday, as the Thai capital hosted a Southeast Asian security meeting with top diplomats from the United States, China and other world powers. The first explosions were heard just before 9 a.m. (0200 GMT) at two sites near central Bangkok. A third blast was heard shortly afterwards at a government complex hosting several ministries on the northern side of the city. Police said two street cleaners had been hurt by what appeared to be a homemade bomb in the Suan Luang district." sg.news.yahoo.com/several-small-explosions-bangkok-local-024526466.html

Quick round up the usual scapegoats suspects. There must be some Myanmar slaves workers, or sex trafficked Cambodian entertainers, or Redshirt sympathizers about. And if they are no redshirts to be found, put a couple teenagers or tattooed covered Issan types in a redshirt, just be sure to have the darkest possible skin colour, because Thai and farang alike knows that darkies are associated with these things.
And for the street cleaners who were injured, spare them a kind though because they will be forgotten in this event and left to deal with their ex-pected chronic injuries like burst eardrums and emotional trauma, on their own. Bombers never take into account that it is often the poor politically disenfranchised workers who are the ones who suffer.

Quick round up the usual scapegoats suspects. That's not always the pattern of these things. With the 2006 New Year's Eve bombings the police investigations turned up nothing and nobody was prosecuted. Not even a motive was ever established. I'm rather expecting a repeat performance.

Got some mail from the Netherlands authorities about 'higher alert' and if in Bangko conect relatives at home to let them know you're alright.
I probably passed BTW ChongNonsri just before the explosion(s). Didn't notice a thing. In the evening going home I saw that the glass of one of the safety gates was shattered and cordoned off.

The suspects are supposedly from South of me, although I'm not convinced. The way the big cheese is performing in Parliament, I suspect he's decided democracy isn't for him. He's just setting the table.

Still under investigation "Bomb suspects 'sought revenge' against military Government spokeswoman disputes claims and says investigations are continuing Two southern men arrested in connection with a bomb found at Royal Thai Police headquarters claim they and eight accomplices wanted to create chaos in Bangkok in revenge for military operations in the Deep South, according to a security agency source. But the government spokeswoman on Saturday categorically denied the suspects’ reported confessions, saying police were still investigating. The two men, both from Ruesor district of Narathiwat, were caught on an interprovincial bus at the Pathomporn checkpoint in Chumphon province on Friday. A security camera had captured images of a man dropping a suspicious object near the fence outside RTP headquarters on Rama I Road on Thursday evening." www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/1723951/bomb-suspects-sought-revenge-against-military-hold#cxrecs_s
