Wending my way back last night I decided to have one in the Five Star bar on Beach Rd, this would be close to midnight. There was one farang there with his Thai lady when I arrived. It stayed like that for the half hour or so that I was there. A number of groups of young Indians walking on Beach Rd, but few working ladies in evidence.

, feel free to post your obeservations, over on other forums those with vested interests would be up in arms, sock puppets would appear to deny what you saw, business is booming, best takings in years, property prices on the upward spiral, buy now or lose out on big profits etc etc.

Not mentioned, tm30, hotels, bars, restaurants, massage shops, ice cream parlours, golf courses and snooker halls that used to get my money now dont, I realise I am a zero dollar tourist, the 20-30k baht I used to pump into the local economy that employed locals, is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I am over 100k baht better off for it, the mrs is thankful, after arriving back in bkk on a monday night, she doesnt need to head to CW on a Tuesday morning to spend 6 or 7 hours figthing traffic and waiting in line to fill out a form.

Apparently the absence of ladies is down to the police habit of arresting them and carting them off. I did not say there were none, I seem to remember a few near Sois Post Office and Yamato, so probably at other busy spots too. But none patrolling the beach side of the road. I can think of one individual who has been absent for nearly a year who will be a bit disgruntled by this.
