* In October 2018, Eastspring (the Asian asset management business of Prudential) acquired 65% of TMB Asset Management. Since August 2019, investments in PIPF can only be made by walking in to the TMBAM Eastspring Headquarters (previously, investments could be made via TMB Branches). This is very inconvenient for me as I live in Rayong. * In August 2019, Eastspring announced it will acquire a controlling stake in Thanachart Fund Management (finalisation of the deal is expected by the end of 2019.
Appreciate all thoughts, especially about:
1. Eastspring's expansion into the Thai market.
2. Any downside to further investments in PIPF
3. Possible impacts on TFUND funds

1) When I tried online via TMB AM it's not listed as an existing fund I can purchase.
Did you buy direct from TMBAM or thru an intermediary? That may be an option.
2) When I look online via TMB Bank - we purchased some thru the bank - it shows online as an option. But I haven't tried
3) I have just asked my RM at Tisco - we purchased some thru them too - whether we can still buy thru Tisco. Their process is manual paperwork, and online read only. She's checking
Note: I also hold the RMF version. There seems to be no problem buying this online. So only applies to the normal (non-RMF) version.
On a general note. TMB Eastspring's website is terrible now. Apart from no English version. The Thai website is crap too.

Apparently One Asset's management ONE-PROP is closed to new money - or at least thru Tisco as an intermediary.
ONEPROP-D is still open, but the management charges are much higher

It seems some of these are also no longer available to new investors

Reply from my Tisco RM when I asked if TMB PIPF could be bought thru them as intermediary: Here're the words from the horse's mouth In addition to purchase this fund. We don’t receive cash, so customers are able to transfer money to TMBAM Subscription account with details as follow. Please bring a bank transfer or your payment receipt to contact us for purchase this fund. Detail of TMBAM Subscription account TMB bank : 001-1-56489-5 BBL bank: 031-3-00485-5 SCB bank : 049-3-13176-1 KBANK bank: 709-1-04635-5 BAY bank : 348-0-01084-8 KTB bank : 000-6-15497-2 TBANK bank : 473-3-04793-5 I deposited funds into one of these Banks today, and will head into the TMBAM HQ tomorrow with the receipt. Will report back - especially if there is some easier way to make further investments in TMBPIPF

Reply from my Tisco RM when I asked if TMB PIPF could be bought thru them as intermediary: Yep - went into TMBAM's Abdulrahim's office yesterday, armed with a copy of my bank deposit slip (they do not accept cash, so funds must be deposited into one of their subscription accounts at at a nominated bank). Filled in the usual paperwork (Subscription Form; Risk Docs etc) and the investment seems to have been successful. As far as I understand from pretty limited discussions with the Help Desk lady: * Fund is "full" - which is perhaps why it is difficult to make investments ie, there is now a real impediment to do so * She expects it will be easier at some (unknown) time in the future - my guess is when sufficient redemptions are made and/or NAVs increase sufficiently Let's see,,,,,,,

GOOD NEWS!
Received an TMBAMEastspring notification in the mail yesterday that the PIPF Fund NAV was increased by 64,000 million baht to 100,000 million baht with effect from 11 October 2019.
Just spoke with the Help Line, who advise that PIPF subscriptions can now be made (again) at TMB Branches. Back to normal!

You can also buy online too via TMB bank and TMB eastspring asset management. We added to it recently. My RM at Tisco also said it is open to buy again thru them. Would rather do online though thru TMB. Systems are much better than Tisco
