Nothing to do with Trump. "US, UK sign pact to share electronic evidence in criminal cases Agreement will allow law enforcement officials to demand evidence from tech companies in the other's country. The US and UK signed an agreement Thursday that will allow law enforcement officials in both countries to demand tech companies in the other's country to furnish electronic evidence for use in criminal investigations. The agreement is the first approved under the controversial CLOUD Act passed by Congress last year. The agreement between the two counties "will dramatically speed up investigations by removing legal barriers to timely and effective collection of electronic evidence," the US Justice Department said in a statement. The pact will allow investigators to gain access to data on serious crimes such as terrorism, child sexual abuse and cybercrime without encountering legal obstacles. "Only by addressing the problem of timely access to electronic evidence of crime committed in one country that is stored in another, can we hope to keep pace with 21st Century threats," US Attorney General William Barr said." www.cnet.com/news/us-uk-sign-pact-to-share-electronic-evidence-in-criminal-cases/

Much the same as the ruling that the EU can demand / order Facebook to remove posts no matter where they are posted in the world A ruling that came about because somebody insulted an Austrian politician on Facebook. Thin skinned lot, these politicians nowadays. Wasn't there another Austrian politician about whom a lot of nasty things were said? He never went to court to stop people insulting his toothbrush moustache. The older generation was made of sterner stuff than today's Green party snowflakes.

Not really much the same as I think the removal of perceived or real insults is a bit different from information some deem important in a criminal case in a certain country.

BTW will the US-UK have effect in time to embarrass Boris Johnson in case "Arcuri Gate" will come to a criminal charge? "Boris Johnson faces ultimatum over Jennifer Arcuri messages London assembly committee may also compel PM to appear before it to answer questions about relationship with entrepreneur Boris Johnson could be forced to hand over any private text messages and emails he sent to the US technology entrepreneur with whom he has denied an improper relationship – or face prison. The prime minister has until Tuesday to respond to a summons from the London assembly to provide details of his relationship with Jennifer Arcuri, an entrepreneur whose relationship with Johnson is the subject of several inquiries." www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/oct/06/boris-johnson-jennifer-arcuri-london-assembly-summons

This is from 2017 when we weren't used to insult yet. Thank Trump and a few others that insulting is now deemed part of a normal conversation.
