Worried about a bit of covid? No need if you're loaded. Just take your private jet and leave problems behind. Mind you, seems those rich also take the problems with them. "Indian Super Rich Flee World’s Worst COVID Outbreak on Private Jets Eight private jets carrying India’s super wealthy—and potentially the coronavirus—landed in London ahead of the U.K.’s 4 a.m. ban on travel from India, according to the London Times. The U.K. added India to its “red list” of pandemic-stricken countries. As of Friday, any Britons returning from India must quarantine for 10 days in a government-approved hotel. All non-British or non-Irish citizens will be banned entirely from entering the country if they have been in India in the previous 10 days. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had to cancel his own state visit to India scheduled for next week as a “precautionary measure.”" www.yahoo.com/news/fire-rips-icu-india-suffers-113653505.html10 day quarantine in their Knightsbridge mansions with Harrods deliveries. Swimming pool in the basement sir?

Things don't look good at the moment here in Thailand. More cases, more deaths, more restrictions, possibly a new lockdown. In Bangkok walk outside without msk and possibly face a fine of 20,000 Baht. and loud birthday parties? Well forget it, neighbours get annoyed by the noise and may call the police "Birthday party raided in Pattaya, 28 held Twenty-five foreigners and three Thais were arrested when police and local officials raided two homes in a housing estate where a birthday party was being held on Sunday night in violation of Covid-19 restrictions. ... The complainants said the party-goers were drinking alcohol and the music was very loud and annoying. ..." www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2105667/birthday-party-raided-in-pattaya-28-held

I reckon covid will be eradicated here in a fortnight.

In the Netherlands it's not over yet, but there's steady progress. By now 5.2m jabs and weekly another 730,000 added (about one every 0.5 seconds). My age group has been informed to make an appointment from 26/04. I guess I have to decline as I'm not going to the Netherlands just to get a jab. I'll wait till I can get one here. As legal and taxpaying alien I might be at the end of a (very) long queue. The embassy has no news about a program for emigrants either. So, a pack of facemasks at home and at work, a few extra in my backpack. Lots of hand wringing (and washing/cleaning). Temperature check. Stay away from HiSo people, illegals and other expats. So far I've managed to work and stay healthy with two times one hour commute using public transportation every day. Fingers crossed.

I thought you knew Amsterdam and the 'entertainment' there is for foreigners. Most Dutch try to stay away from it all.

Teacher leave those kids alone? Seems some think those who have had a covid-19 vaccine are a danger. Those might be American "Health Freedom and “my body, my choice”" believers only though. "Miami private school Centner Academy won’t employ vaccinated teachers, staff A private school with two campuses in Miami has warned its staff against taking vaccines that prevent COVID-19, saying it will not employ anyone who has been inoculated and spreading misinformation about the potential risks of vaccination. Centner Academy, with campuses in the Design District and Edgewater, informed parents of its policy for teachers and staff by email on Monday. The announcement, first reported by the New York Times, left some parents, teachers and medical experts aghast because it was presented as fact without citing any scientific evidence. Leila Centner, who co-founded the school with husband David Centner, warned that vaccinated persons “may be transmitting something from their bodies” that could harm others, particularly the “reproductive systems, fertility, and normal growth and development in women and children.”" www.yahoo.com/news/miami-private-school-centner-academy-233603240.html

If I get the opportunity I'll take the jab, any of them although I prefer to be jabbed as less as possible. Mind you seems the J&J and Astra/Zenaca jab gives a very small chance of blood cloths but mostly in women. The Sinovax might require three jabs to be safe, the Putin jab is maybe slightly better but reliable details are unavailable. For BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna two jabs as well as for Astra/Zenaca. Mixing jabs ? For me insufficient data, didn't look into it. In the mean time I avoid bleach, 'undesirables' and stay home a lot more to annoy the wife

^ I got my 2nd jab last Thursday and Mrs TF gets hers in May. We were just talking now, in light of the recent news coming out of BKK/Thailand how fortunate we are if we do consider the move back in July. Saying that a lot can happen in such a small amount of time with this virus, who knows what state things will be in 2/3 months time.

I guess we'll soon have to start again, from scratch. "Millions Are Skipping Their Second Doses of Covid Vaccines Nearly 8 percent of those who got initial Pfizer or Moderna shots missed their second doses. State officials want to prevent the numbers from rising. Millions of Americans are not getting the second doses of their Covid-19 vaccines, and their ranks are growing. More than five million people, or nearly 8 percent of those who got a first shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, have missed their second doses, according to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That is more than double the rate among people who got inoculated in the first several weeks of the nationwide vaccine campaign." www.nytimes.com/2021/04/25/business/covid-vaccines-second-doses.html
