Except with the British it was strategy. Churchill's simple master plan, "if we can hang on till the Americans come in, eventually we'll win." The way you write this seems to suggest that the we who win excludes the Americans and implicitly also the many nations who fought with the British. Like the Canadians, Australians, NewZealanders, Indians, thousands from Poland, other countries overrun by the NAZIs. |

I just do not see how you can say I was excluding Americans in particular or everybody else. I am quoting Churchill.
Anyway the ones who should know say the British did not defeat them the Americans did.
I was indicating that Churchill's strategy was better than the failed RC who thought "this is going well, let's invade Russia while we're at it and tie up others by transporting Jews across Europe for slavery and death. And get our Jap mates to take out the USA. Job sorted."
