A certain Scottish football supporters club will be hosting afternoon tea at a venue on Soi Buakhao to mark the day.
For those who dislike tea, various types of alcohol will be freely available (though not free).
Not of interest to any on here I realise but thought I would mention it.

I thought that the Glorious Twelfth was in August. Will I need my shotgun?

A certain Scottish football supporters club Which colour? I would hate to turn up brandishing the wrong religion.

Aaaaaah yes, silly me.
My friend in Belfast has informed me that all Orange Day marches are called off for this year.

Yes, everywhere in the UK. Not sure about the rest of the world.

I never got to attend an Orange march while I was posted to the province. I finished training and got posted to my battalion in August and got posted to Berlin the following April. Some of the older boys used to tell stories about being on the streets during the marches and to be honest they sounded frecken scary (especially to an 18yo kid). I suppose being part of the parade rather than policing it would make a difference.

I never understand why a disciplined and organised parade of men dressed in suits, collar and tie, plus possibly white gloves, rolled umbrellas and bowler hats is threatening. Mainly walking through friendly and sympathetic areas - not much trouble there. Accompanied by smartly uniformed and similarly disciplined bands, many of whom would not disgrace the army. (You may have your own opinion on that). Not sure about Ulster but in Liverpool the majority of parades are Cuurch parades.

I believe that the problem with the parades in N. Ireland was the route that they took.

I doubt if more than 1% of Ulster parades are contentious. In the main they are traditional routes, the usual problem is that housing estates for Republicans have been built near the roads, and the tenants, primed by politicians and terrorists are offended by said parades. Many people drive for 30 miles and more to be "offended". This is proved by the addresses of people arrested.
It is a deep and complex subject of which I only have a shallow, surface knowledge. If you didn't grow up with it and into it, it is difficult to follow.

Groups of knobheads wandering around glorifying something which happened hundreds of years ago....and yes I'd say the same about the 'other side'.
Divide and rule working well as always.

Not glorifying anything you snidey, nasty-mouthed <duck>er, the day is a commemoration of a historical event.
In this instance there were a few dozen mainly pensionable age people having a few drinks.
"groups of nobheads" you apply this to orderly, disciplined and organised parades of between hundreds and thousands of well-behaved and smartly attired people.?
I think it applies to those gormless, brain dead, bullying twats on your border.
Go and <duck> yourself.
