This made me think. I took profit from Artemis SC a short while ago and then reduced my holdings. As a result of my risk reduction exercise, I've currently only 12% in smaller companies, split between the US and the UK. Given the trend towards value stocks, was my cutback premature and does anyone think it should be increased? I'm 15% in cash.My best advice, get it spent, go and enjoy yourself, personally this year I will be buying a new car, its only money. TM 30, covid restrictions, blah blah blah, I cant spend money here, we should have been back to jolly ole blighty last year, no chance, this year no chance, personally my fingers are crossed for next year at the earliest.

FTSE barely moved this morning so far. Appears to be a storm in a teacup. I suggest cm spends longer in bed in the morning, waking us up with fake news, .

I've owned a CRV and kept it for seven years, personally, nothing beats my Toyota pickup truck which is soooo reliable. Given the choice again I'd opt for the Toyota, but that's just me. I just got an offer to buy it from Toyota, after seven years it's still worth 50% of the price paid, about the same as the CRV when I sold it so both hold their value. And I did take your advice and spent some, I bought some THB at 41.4, my next strike price is 41.8, means I'll be able to buy a new alarm clock to wake me up in the morning so I can post market alerts for you over sleepers.

I've been harping on about portfolio risk, here's what I've discovered/understood recently.
The KIID risk levels don't use cash as a starting point so they can't be compared against say Trustnet which does.
MS risk levels are constructed by category, you can't compare the risk level contents of one category against another.
Standard deviation or volatility remains, for me, one of the best indicators of risk but not everyone agrees.

To be honest CM, I aint bothered about resale value, if truth be known, this will probably be the last car I buy. The mechanic in Honda came out the service area and told me to my face, if I ever decide to sell the car please give him first refusal, sorry mate, booked already. Onto cashing in at todays rates, we can scan spreadsheets from now til the cows come home, never mentioned, the intangibles, being able to sleep in bed at night knowing you have locked in at a certain exchange rate, knowing you have enough in cash to keep you going for the next x years, blah blah blah. I was in the Mall today and noticed over 42 for the mighty pommie rupee today, until my cash clears I am stuck, but once it does, I will cash in my chips and convert. Another trip to UOB in the CBD is on the cards.

I wrote those numbers incorrectly, I exchanged at 42.13, my next strike price is 42.8.
