A couple of weeks ago a friend tried to describe this app where you deposit money, click buttons for half an hour, and earn a % on the sum you invested. Apparently people are doubling their deposit within a couple of weeks. You also get a % of the profits of others you recommend join the service. He said I should join. No thanks. I also asked him what exactly is the business model here? The closest thing to an explanation I got was that buying these products boosts the ranking of that product in some e-commerce store. He was describing how so many people in his expat circle were doing this and making good money. He even showed me how he was making 900 baht a day just off his "team" of people he got to sign up.
Anyway not interested.
Then today a colleague also brought up this app, and I got the same story. You click buttons for half an hour, you earn "commission" and she knows tons of people doing this right now. Again the more you invest the more you earn. She knew a guy making close to 20,000 baht a day. She didn't seem to care much about how it worked only that it did and people are making and withdrawing money. She also told me some of the Thai staff and all their circles of friends have started doing it. And again I should sign up via her referral.
So it seems this has gone viral. I asked for the url so I could try get info. The site where you sign up has no info.
Anyone coming across this app/site?
There are lots of videos in Thai of this Shopping Mall app:

The surprising thing to me is it is not just Thais but lots of expats, from digital nomads to teachers and retirees. I don't speak Thai would be curious to understand how it is pitched. This video (which I think is referring to the same Shopping Mall app) at 13.00 min mark shows the pyramid.
