Still summer down under but like in Britain there's a bit of a problem with rain and flooding, in Queensland that is. Breaking: All schools in Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Somerset, Gold Coast, Logan, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie, Lockyer Valley and Cherbourg council areas will be closed tomorrow "South-east Queensland battered by severe weather, floods as system lingers over Brisbane Hundreds of schools will be closed across south-east Queensland on Monday and people have been encouraged to work from home as a deadly weather system continues to lash the state. Authorities said they expected more than 1,430 homes would flood as the Brisbane River surged, with more than 1,000 people in evacuation centres and 34,000 homes and businesses without power on Sunday evening. BTW just read on a Dutch news site that the expectation is a possibly 30% increase in the price of bread, flour and cookies and also sunflower oil. Now not related to rain but to Russia fighting a war in Ukraine.

Which of course does not suggest that he is anything but a perfectly decent and honourable gentleman. Despite what some on here may imply. Central decent again today. Or was that yesterday.? |
