She was paying 30K Pound s year in tax FFS, what more do you want! Someone on a modest salary, earning £100,000 p.a. (gross) pays £34,396 in taxes. That's more than she's been paying with her multi million pound income. Personally, I'd like to see the non-dom tax exemption removed. Viscount Rothermere (owner of the Daily Mail and Trust) is also a non-dom because his father became a tax exile living in Paris. However, he seems to have his roots pretty deep into England. Apart from owning a national newspaper, he spent GBP 40 million building himself a new home there. The tax gap is the gap between what is owed and what was paid, 10 years ago the breakdown of the tax gap was as follows: Behaviour Amount Hidden economy £6.2 billion Criminal attacks £5.1 billion Legal interpretation £4.9 billion Evasion £4.4 billion Failure to take reasonable care £3.9 billion Tell me again that a woman voluntarily paying only 30k tax per year using current tax rules is a problem! And statistica tells us that average tax per decile in 2020/2021 shows that the 9th decile household paid only 12,601 in tax. The tenth decile however jumps to 49,666 per household. But wait, Mrs Sunak is married to Mr Sunak who is a part of her household and whilst she only paid 30,000 in tax, Mr Sunak has total remuneration of over 269,000. Plus he has foreign income, all of which was fully taxed. This means he might have been expected to pay at least another 45,000 in tax, making that households tax bill over 75,000, nearly double the average of the 10th decile. To summarize, one of the country's highest tax payers, certainly someone in the top 1%, is being pilloried for not paying enough tax using the governments own rules.....whaaaaaa, there truly is no hope. www.statista.com/statistics/813239/average-income-tax-per-household-uk/

The 'but, but the others' is an argument without much value.

The 'but, but the others' is an argument without much value. Everything is relative, looking at anything is isolation gives a distorted view, the doctor who examines a sick patient knows this, as does the judge who assesses the hardened criminal. Mrs Sunak ought to pay more tax because you think she has a lot of money, she has more than you so you think she should. Warren, Elon, Bernard and Bill, don't thinks she has much money at all and think she pays too much in tax. I rest my case m'lud, rubl is guilty of provocation and presenting an ineffectual case, guilty as charged.....next.

As for the 'guilty as charged' to my defense I can point out that I'm a real Dutch Uncle who always comes with the good advise no one wants to hear. I'm used to that. Luckily I've got an ice coffee next to me and lots of computers to play with.

What next, free trip to van Diemen's Land? Uncle rubl as the re-incarnation of Alexander Pearce? I'm not really into long pig though.
