I'm relieved to see you still here rubes, I read that some wealthy Dutch investors have lost millions of Euros in the Chang Mai mall problem.
Changers has gone quiet, one suspects he grabbed the cash to settle with his creditors in the UK. A few other financially astute mangoes are also quiet, possibly co-conspirators spending there ill gotten gains in the flesh pots of Isaan.

Now I'm wondering if I should reply and if yes should it be "where else would I be" or maybe "nowhere else to go, poor me"

Not much sympathy for Promenada....I prefer hand made fisherman pants and freshly made spelt bread....oh and those shiny beads from Karen hill tribe women.

It gets worse, crisis what crisis, covid what the eff is that.
Was in a part of town last night I havent been in in years, 20 years ago it was just above slum status, shophouses and wooden houses on stilts, goats and sheep in the back garden.
The whole area is gone, flattened, fences erected and advertising hoardings on the walls, housing for the common masses will start at 25 million, average prices 49 million, yes I shit you not, even had palaces for 100 million, build it and they will come.
The world has gone mad.
On a less serious note, the vip snooker room cost me 900 baht for 4 hours.

More over undisturbed by riffraff which makes it worth the money.

will need to take financial lessons from the girl across the road, she is now the talk of the moo baan, driving around in a red plate beemer, shameless i tell you. I would hazard that she's bought it on credit. Look on the bright side: perhaps in a few months she won't be able to keep up the repayments and it will be repossessed. It is ludicrous that Thai financial institutions will lend vast amounts of money to people are are fundamentally uncreditworthy, but won't lend to me even one Siamese peso. I've had to pay in cash for my cars and homes. And no credit card for me. Apparently I'm a feckless farang who will run off to another country without paying off my debts. Yet look at my (quite small, but rather upmarket) Bangkok moobaan (lots of BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, the odd Ferrari, and even a couple of Jaguars parked in the drives) there are plenty of houses where the buyers took out a mortgage, couldn't keep up the payments, and the property has then been repossessed by the bank. The legal documents tied to the front gates attest to that. I know I'm the lesser risk here, but the banks are too narrow minded and xenophobic to bother to understand.

All Thai know foreigners like to dig up homes and ship them to their own country. Even plots of land are not safe from them, they'll dig them up.
