In my area, Dusit Bangkok, the rain started about 19:00 and went off and on till maybe 06:00. Only occasionally a 'real' downpour, mostly just rain, rain, more rain. In my area no flooding though and starting to dry up when the rain stops. Other parts of Bangkok and Greater Bangkok are less lucky. "Rain pounds Bangkok, floods roads ... They included Sukhumvit 26 and Sukhumvit 39 roads, a section on Lat Phrao Road from Chao Khun Sing Canal to Lat Phrao 122 Road, sections of Pattanakan Road, Sukhumvit 71 Road and a section of Srivara Road. The BMA's Department of Drainage and Sewerage reported the hiighest flood level at 27 centimetres on Chalerm Prakiat Rama IX Road at Sri Udom intersection, followed by 24cm on Pattanakan Road in front of a Krungthai Bank branch, 15cm on Srinagarind Road near Wat Sri Iam and 7cm on Pattanakan Road at its intersection with Srinagarind Road." www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2350581/rain-pounds-bangkok-floods-roads

Wear your sandals, don't ruin your good shoes. Keep them and your socks in your backpack so that they're dry when you get to "work".
