When you say monthly you mean every month?
I've read of it before but not monthly.

Yes, I'm on a non-imm visa, with extension based on marriage. Never had immigration visit. Have been on this arrangement for years though, and we're BKK based so those could be the difference.

Had an FB chat with a friend living nearer Ranong, he's on retirement extension and has been told the same.

I doubt it's gonna be monthly visits. Immigration in probably every country can at anytime to a surprise visit to see your living arrangements.

And I'll add, it seems strange they're announcing visits.

You probably served them too good a whisky when they last visited so they want more.

If anybody wants to have a Non-O, based on marriage, you can easily get a Non-O multiple entry in Savannakhet/Laos.No financial proof needed.
You'll have to have the original marriage certificate and wife's signed ID copy.

Looks like they got fed up with the 80 km round trip. Not seen them since July 26th. They don't even get a glass of water from us. Sopha may want to go to Penang next year. We sat in immigration for 4 hours when we applied for the extension. Plus she was asked too many personal questions she said.

What were those personal questions?

She didn't say, However after my last 90 day report taking 2 hours, 1 before took 20 mins. I'm inclined to go to Penang too.

I just did my 90-day report and it was done in three minutes. No more passport copies, etc. needed.
There are no monthly visits in lower northeast. They might show up after somebody did a one year visa and they check if the address is really the place where somebody's residing.
I know some cool Immigration guys and they usually run out of money for gasoline for such trips. Would all Immigration guys be like the ones in Sisaket, there wouldn't be any threads about the bad Immigration of Thailand on a certain forum.
And when you walk in, covered in tattoos, drunk, raise your voice and think that they have to do what you want, they will show you who they are.
I'm glad that I'm not dealing with the Phiboon Mangsahan guys. A real nightmare. They sent guys 140 km back because one letter in the house book was misspelled, lost through translation. But the guy never had a problem with it for more than ten years before.
An English guy showed up at the same Immigration, the unsatisfied officer wanted to see his kids? Okay, come back tomorrow, a 300 km round trip...
When he showed up the next day, nobody and I mean nobody wanted to see his kids. But when you're living here, you gotta take all with a big smile in your face.
If you can't change things, live with it. Or go back home and pay some good tax for some refugees.
