Rubes has it ever been put to you that you have an unhealthy obsession with all things British.?
However be that as it may, this is a positive contribution from yourself.
I am not sure whether this event has happened in previous years, if not it is a welcome addition to the Bangkok social scene. Possibly a belated replacement for the annual Ploenchit fair which used to take place in the Embassy grounds in the days when there were such things.

Well it's a week today and I had hoped that the one who promised faithfully (and failed) to organise and fund last year's Christmas do would step in. I had envisaged a charabanc to take us there and his card behind the bar to get the ale in. We would of course make our owm arrangements for getting home.
Still, life must go on.

Looks like the lack of interest is increasing.
I have already purchased my outfit for the day, a pair of grey tracky bottoms (the same shade as my incontinence shorts) plus a Beer Laos vest. This latter item will show that I am a well travelled sophisticate and thus impress the tarts.
I had thought that if a group of us were to go, this could be adopted as standard dress and we could tell people that we are the swat squad from somewhere or other operating undercover on a major case.
Well I have done my bit, as has that good and faithful servant the Dutchy.
Er, do we have to pay to get in this place.? Never thought of that.
