Combination of being a saddo and sleep not happening yet but this thought occurs to me.
What are the current treatments that are replacing the famous iron lung of yore.
Not a facetious query, for some reason it's on my mind.
39 forecast for today.

Freud might say you were connecting with your past self, back when you were Sir Rott and wore a shiny suit of armour and rescued damsels, in distress or not.

Ventilators hmm. They don't sound a lot of fun either.
On the subjecty of damsels, the noodle soup assistant opposite the coffee place has let it be known that she is available as has a lady who calls in for a coffee on the way to her cleaning job. Setting my sights high again.

With patients severely suffering from COVID-19 and being unable to breath ventilators were used. "The first step in putting a patient on a ventilator is general anesthesia. Then, a medical professional will place a tube into the mouth or nose and snake it into the windpipe. This is called intubation. The tube is connected to an external machine that blows air and oxygen into the lungs. The machine can help do all or just some of the breathing, depending on the patient’s condition. The ventilator can also help hold the lungs open so that the air sacs do not collapse. While patients are on a ventilator, doctors will monitor their heart and respiratory rates, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Other tests, such as X-rays and blood draws, may be done to measure oxygen and carbon dioxide levels (sometimes called blood gases). What is it like to be on a ventilator? The goal is for patients to be awake and calm while they are on a ventilator, but that can sometimes be difficult; many require light sedation for comfort, Dr. Ferrante says." www.yalemedicine.org/news/ventilators-covid-19"Oxygenation and Ventilation for Adults" www.covid19treatmentguidelines.nih.gov/management/critical-care-for-adults/oxygenation-and-ventilation-for-adults/

Setting my sights high again. Seems to me you've got a decent chance of getting your place cleaned, being served noodle soup for dinner and getting laid, seems like a win to me.

Appreciate your thoughts changers but nothing comes for nothing round here. I was told that the noodle lady would be good because she has no kids. "you mean good because......" no, because there'd be no kids to support. "oh right".

[br"] From $249, sounds a goer. But is it the same as a ventilator.? Not that I anticipate needing one but could be the answer to my sleeping problems. I could advertise for a second hand one, or try Klong Toei market.

I wasn't suggesting that you buy the cow, merely that you drink a pint or two of its milk.

That would be my intention but not the other side's. But best not to play where you eat and drink, a lesson I am finally learning.

Er, no, CPAP and a ventilator are similar in concept but not really the same thing. CPAP devices are good for preventing Sleep Apnea, ventilators are good for preventing death. Another difference is that a CPAP device doesn't have this Alien like tube that snakes down into your insides. Sir Rott, do you snore? If you do, SA is the likely culprit of your poor sleep.

Well I used to snore even when sober, but for some reason had no complaints for a while. Anyway must dash, off to Prakanong on an errand.

before investing in CPAP maybe do a sleep apnee test.
"At-home sleep apnea tests are generally more convenient than a polysomnogram. Instead of finding a sleep clinic, scheduling the overnight exam, and driving to and from the clinic, you can pick up the sleep apnea test at your local pharmacy or doctor’s office and administer the test yourself at home."
Not sure pharmacies here sell those kits though. A quick check on lazada showed some CPAP devies, starting 20,000 Bath up. No testkits though. Amazon shows testkits US$ 75 up.
Note cheap devices might also give 'rough' results and break easily.
