I tried making pastries at home, but the food inspector was disgusted when he saw me roll my bread buns under my armpit. I told him "You should see how I make donuts".

Might under the current leadership the Thai baht may be returning to its original content?
Prior to banknotes, Thailand used coins, pot duang, and baked clay coins.
The Bank of Thailand has the exclusive authority to issue baht. Each baht is equal to 100 satang coins. The Thailand baht is most regularly referred to as Thai baht or just simply baht. The symbol used for this currency is ฿.

I see we have had 2 consecutive days above 44 baht to sterling (as per the Post) is this a harbinger of anything or just the usual fluctuation. Good for the soul anyway. Can those who are more familiar with other currenncies advise if they see similar movements.?

I've been distracted so I haven't been paying attention. From a quick peak at the numbers, it looks like the Pound strengthened a little, up to 1.27.

All is well with China leading the way to an Asian economic recovery or so the Chinese claim.

Interesting note from XE currency site concerning baht to pound values over the last year. Possibly the gloomy forecasts are a trifle off of the reality of the situation...
GBP to THB Chart. +10.54% (1Y) 1 GBP = 45.0673 THB Jan 20, 2024, 04:45 UTC

The gbp/thb value is derived from USD/thb and since the usd has been strong, that strength is reflected in gbp/thb. If you take gbp in isolation, the picture is far less rosy.

Another cheering dose of Monday morning schadenfreude "China is facked" B6 in the Post, which accompanied my latte lon over the road. This is tempered by the sub-heading on B1 "China's prospects for exports and tourism tied to China". Still one can't have everything.

Thailand's exports to China look to be around 12/15% of total exports and not all of it has suddenly simply gone away. Is that really such a big deal?

USD looks like it's on the up again, perhaps have an apple slice with the cinnamon roll, just to celebrate perhaps.
