In the course of my tax investigative work I have come across a suspicious filing from one Mr O. L. Die of Australia who claims a tax deductions of AUD 12,453 for the purchase of many cases of VB Bitter, for therapeutic and health improvement purposes. Further down the page is a second deduction, a medical consultation with Mr P McCartney, AUD 10,000. The special investigations team did go round to see Mr Die but when they knocked on the door, a voice said, "I'm not in". They'll return later, you have been warned.

I'm in Lat Krabang waiting for my cappuccino...no idea on volume and I don't drink cans of p**s. Ask SirPolee about that...he used to enjoy a couple of cans during morning break at school....allegedly.

Good news, the protest by internationally known 'Baht and Beer' expert C.M. has had the right, positive result. Carabao Lager now also comes in big bottles. PS pity the "Toby Jugs" on Silom closed, 10 maybe 15 years ago. They had an interesting collection. The dope museum in Patpong has an actual bar inside it...I had a beer and smoke in there the other year. Could be a cracking spot for a Mango p**sup! Where's the dope museum.? The Patpong museum seems to have closed. I may have mentioned before that The Old Other Office bar just down the Soi is worth a visit, sort of unique. Also the Crown Royal a lovely old bar is free of ladies for hire in the afternoons.

Not sure the actual name of it...we did a tour of it 2-3 years ago....interesting history of Patpong...if its closed that's sad.

I reckon if BOT were to back down and cut rates, that would undermine confidence in the central bank to where there would be no FDI and no capital inflows and the baht would easily go to over 50 again. The guys a loon.

Interesting footnote, my UK state pension and private pensions now takes 4 days to clear as opposed 3 days as has been the case for many a year apart from Thai bank holiday. Central Bank playing financial games perhaps?

Central Bank playing financial games perhaps? I don't think BOT plays a role in that until after the fact. The transfers and currency exchanges are private business that go bank to bank. Bahtnet gets involved when transfers are made to locations outside of Bangkok. BOT gets reports on the amounts but I don't think they are involved in the exchange. Worldpay and Citi handle the US SSc payments, and I think Citi is involved in UK State. UK Privates will be bank to bank, none involve BOT that I can see.

My company pension takes 5 working days, but my UK State Benefit takes 10.
