Have you come across this at all when servicing your Thai clients system(s)? There are number of (cheap) antiquated and pirated systems much loved by many public and private entities currently in use in Thailand... www.atlasobscura.com/places/difference-engine-2

"Difference Engine #2 London Science Museum London, England Charles Babbage's proto-computer, painstakingly brought to life." Although I'm no longer real young I'm still not as old as SiamP. I never saw a Babbage 'calculator' in real life. Mind you, I've seen some 'older' computers when I studied Math and later starting to work in the Computer & IT industry. None older than the 1960-tish I think. Here in Thailand there's still old stuff around but none from before 1985 I would think. That's apart from sliderules and abacusses, 386/486/Pentium PCs running DOS. There's also still a lot of COBOL programs in the Financial Institutes. I'm still wondering if I should refresh my knowledge of Cobol.

Am available for porridge days....must be over 85 and be able to make Spitfire vrooms.

Actually I'm more interested in craftmen who can help with repairing Sopwith Camels.
