You might be right BUT only if the Sun were to be 4 times the distance from Earth to the Moon. In non-flat-Earth space the Moon is on average 384.400 km away. The Sun about 150.000.000 km. I got confused between diameter and distance, after a 14 hour shift. Well they both start with D. with rott absent for the moment may I use the opportunity to say that in your sentence those two words both start with a d?

On FaceBook I just stumbled over this question. No, not by our illustrious flat-earther. "Why does the moon so closely match the size of the sun from our vantage? Wouldn’t it more likely be either larger or smaller in perspective than same? Lucky coincidence, or cost saving celestial design?"

Because the sun is (almost) exactly 400 times larger and 400 times further away. But why does a moon a couple of thousand miles across cast a shadow a hundred miles wide?

With the Moon's diameter of 3474 km and the Sun a bit larger why does Australia have so many snakes and spiders? Is it really coincidence or is there a dark secret behind it? Why didn't the Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon mention them?

I just watched some videos about all this stuff and it's because God stuck the stars, sun and moon on a giant dome and now they swing around and block each other out occasionally. Very interesting.

It's definitely true. The great astrologers Moses and Enoch wrote about it.

I've actually got no idea how a ball a few thousand miles wide doesn't cast a shadow a few thousand miles wide, unless it's another conspiracy theory. Maybe the moon really is 100 miles across and a thousand miles away?

And if Bezos blue origin flight lasts 15 minutes and it passes the Karmin line and the earth is spinning at 1000 miles an hour, why doesn't it land 250 miles away? So the Earth really is flat, the moon is 100 miles wide, and we've been lied to all our lives. I knew it.

So the Earth really is flat, the moon is 100 miles wide, and we've been lied to all our lives. I knew it. Anyway, to answer my own question. Here's a simplified version. Blue origin lands back in the same spot (well 3 km away) is because of a thing called gravity. And the light from the sun is actually a wedge, according to my pencil sketch.
