After the results are announced on Friday, V8 Intertrading will have a 30-day deadline to sign a contract with PWO to complete the purchase. The company will then be required to improve the rice quality to meet various benchmarks. The rice has to be approved by the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for domestic sale or the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) for exporting, said Mr Phumtham. That comment above alone destroys the creditability of the agency who assessed the quality of the rice as fit for human consumption. In truth the rice is on a par with fecal matter, much like those involved in the ''cunning stunts'' no doubt lining their pockets in the rice sale fiasco (scam)...

seems that to ensure 'transparency' the winner of the bidding process has not been announced yet. As the rice is already ten years old a few more months in well fumigated storage will not further harm it's quality I guess.
