I'm currently eating some Salle Sur Cher....absolutely lovely....although I am trying to leave the rest to soften a bit....complex and delicious!
I ate last month at the cheese room in the Sofitel in Sukhumvit....its good....but not outstanding in the way this here in Europe can be.
So....is there anywhere in Bangkok up to standard?

If you look for the quality buffets at the decent hotels (4/5 up) as well as a decent selection of roasts and wine thrown in there's often a decent cheese board. Last one we went to was Millenium Sukhumvit for dinner buffet. The places that do Sunday brunch also good.

Tesco does a nice selection of decent cheese, cant be assed with poncy French crap. The New Zealand stuff in big blocks is sometimes two for one...when it is grab it. Lot of crap otherwise in my opinion....my choice would be the Irish cheese...Milleens.

Mainland Epicure Cheddar (NZ) is good and quite sharp, Heath Farm (made in Thailand) does a pretty decent Brie de Meaux.

Heath Farm (made in Thailand) does a pretty decent Brie de Meaux. But, but their distribution network is terrible. If you don't live in Pattaya, then you're basically out of luck. I do wish they'd ramp up production and sell to the likes of Central, TOPS, Villa.

I asked them about that and they said they can't. They can't even open a farm shop onsite. Heaven on Cheese Cheese is another one running at capacity and not taking on more distributors. We can't get theirs even here in Pattaya.
