What was your childhood board game? and do you play it now? I loved playing monopoly with my family - even more so when we were on one of our infrequent trips to a caravan holiday. The subject came up yesterday when I was talking to a customer who makes sure she packs board games every time she goes on holiday with her kids. Aged eight and eleven - they are the perfect age, and the spend hours and hours sitting by the pool playing games. The simple things in life - you can't beat them.

Snakes and ladders and I was right peeved when I had to slide down a snake.Tiddly Winks was a close second.
In later years draughts the board game( The draught beer, came along a bit later) and a great card game called Lexicon then scrabble followed by Monopoly.

All of the above...but my favourite was Frustration...with its dice in a pop thing in the middle of the board.
Often the board would be flung across the room by one of the players which always resulted in everyone else laughing and eventually the poor kid would join in too.
Loved that one.

I thought that was part of growing up! Sill texting though was silly, but that is all they know now. From an old fuddy duddy. Really, world news! Ridiculous!
