We’re building a team. Khaosod Public Co. Ltd. is seeking talented reporters, editors, designers and more to build a dynamic news organization. We’re looking for erudite news pros with judgment and flexibility to cover everything from street crime and politics to development and nightlife in Bangkok. Do you feel that no one is adequately telling the story of this vibrant and dynamic metropolis? Can you do better? Are you a reporter who can write crisp copy on the news of the day as well as thoughtful features? Have your finger on the pulse of Bangkok’s trends, neighborhoods, restaurants, nightlife and the arts? Our ideal candidates are bicultural, bilingual Thai nationals with a keen interest in telling it like it is without equivocating. Some positions will be available for native English speakers with professional journalism backgrounds and savvy to Bangkok. Humor and wit a plus. We’re hiring in several phases and are immediately looking for a couple of intrepid reporters and an exacting editor, with more positions being filled thereafter. We prize newsroom diversity as essential to best serving our readers. www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1439444014§ion=15&typecate=06

My pal has just been hired to write for a new weekly called "The Weekly," in PP. I can see they put a lot of thought into the name.

Actually you'd be a good shot at that job blether. Phnom Penh. To be honest, I'm not interested in journalism. And to be a journalist in Thailand, even less. Occasional feature? - yup, maybe that - but I have no great interest in that either. I've got to say I've been disappointed in Andrew Drummond - he seems to be spinning the same names time and time again - it's as if he's runs out of news to report. In his favour, he did say that he had packed in the sharp end stuff. I'd like to see him writing a lot more features - he has the talent for it, and I think ( know ) he must have many excellent tales to tell. My fave Thai-related journo type is Richard Barrow - he produces excellent work, but again I'd like to see him do more features. Our own MrRobot that joined a few days ago looks like he has a bit of form going on there too - I'm looking forward to reading more from him.

I usually have a look once every couple of months, only to see the same names crop up again and again and again ..............
