About an hour ago walking on Silom Rd. between Convent and SalaDaeng there's this big foreigner in short, bare feet sandels playing guitar and singing. Straw hat in front of him for the tips. Probably Australian.
An affront to good order! Doesn't he know such jobs are protected and reserved for Thai? No police to be seen, but that's normal on Silom (too early).

Don't tell anyone, but yes he was good, certainly compared with the 'normal' chaps singing along. Some of the Thai with their music box and singing some THai country song probably only get money to get them to stop singing. |

My pals son travels around Europe busking - does well out of it, but has various run-ins with the law depending on which country. I think Germany is tough on him? He'd be in BKK in a heartbeat if he thought he could earn - but as you say, restricted occupation. In saying that, there is an "entertainers," visa option - here he is on a rare TV appearance.
