Most couples I know in the UK couldn't afford to fly to Thailand with two children at Christmas time. As you know - young children = maximum expense. So you expect them to keep leaching off their dad. They do have contraception these days so entirely her choice. If she cannot afford the kids she should not have had them. Not blame her father. A bit harsh, me. Where in that little script did it indicate that she was a leech? Maybe she just loves her Dad, and wants her kids to meet/love him too?

Now see if he'd been sensible and retired like a normal person to Devon or the Welsh borders this wouldn't be an issue. National Express is very cheap these days. Had a real hard think over the last week about the future. I've got to and will continue to support the kids here but there's simply no way I'm retiring to this country. No chance. Been here doing this since 2001 and to be honest it's not getting any easier and certainly not any more interesting. I know for many of you it's great n'all and more power to you, but this ain't for me, not in the long run.

Objecting to his choice to stay with his wife and build a house. His money not hers. Many people live in seperate countries without making demands on the other. I do think it more than indicates she is a leach.

I can't see the benefit of dodging dengue mossies and floods in the summer when Europe and North America are at their best.

Still doing the 12-18 months UK contracting and then 6 month tour of duty here to make sure all is tickety-boo. Over the next couple of months the house (No. 2) will be finished off (finally!) and I can concentrate then on sorting a place in Blighty over the next few years. At the moment it's non-stop pressure from all manner as to why I don't have a new wife or even a girlfriend here and various individuals are being offered up as available. Well, f$@k that for a game of tins, I ain't available and never will be, once bitten, twice shy. Yikes, my penis goes inverted at the thought. Nope, this definitely ain't for me Blethe.

Inverted penis The thing is, you know it. If I were you I'd be looking at taking a genuine "me time," break. Head somewhere like Bali and get the camera out. You'll handle things all the better by having something to look forward to and something to drink on for a few days when you get back. AirAsia is your friend.

Honestly, got no interest in Asia at all. If it was a me break I'd be togging round Europe, Interail. Reason I'm here is for Minnie and Dids, so all my time is taken up with them, which I love. Also, financial constraints. Money has to be targeted at exactly what's needed, gone are the days of disposable income. Worried about their future more than anything, there's no real opportunity here as I see it, regardless of education and with no way out I can see that I'm going to be financially responsible for them, likely until I drop dead.

Interrail - another one of my unfulfilled ambitions. That's precisely the kind of thing I'll be doing rather than suffering rainy season in Asia. I've always fancied the Via train service across Canada too. To be fair, yourself and Hippity are still very young - and your both at that maximum cash call part of your lives. Keep at it, the tide will turn - but you MUST make me time. Your going to have to find something to do with yourself down there to make your days fuller. It's not all about "me," - but it has to be about "me," sometimes. Otherwise life just grinds you down.

I understand you not wanting to get involved again here....frankly most of the ones to get involved with are not worth it. I can also understand you wanting to spend time with your kids...who rightly are the most important things in your life. Why not let go a bit. Here still has a little of the old remaining. Why not take the kids out and see the little that is left of here. Relax a bit and have fun while you are here with them. I hope you get them over there soon.

I went 6 months on a first class one once. allways stocked up the book bag in Delhi with the latest books at dirt cheap prices.

I'm also keen to do the Scotland to Singapore rail trip too. ** I have it in mind to do that trip during the World Cup 2018 in Russia - see if I can catch some games as I go along.

I dunno why Harry, it's just very much more foreign to me this time and I'm struggling to adjust. I'm maintaining an outward appearance of normality, but truth is, inside I'm not. I've just got this overwhelming feeling of "Oh gawd, not this again!" Going to research some trips away and the kids holiday is coming up Oct/Nov so the aim is to get them away from this dull old routine and broaden their horizons. As well as my own.

It is all selfishness, most comments here.
Life is not just for you!
Glad my son just came in, knew I was down.
No religion, but bless him.
