I'm thinking of treating myslef to a few days away , I really can't be bothered too much in terms of traveling long distance, as I spens so much bloody time on planes as it is.
I've not been to Cambodia for sometime, and was wondering what the latest is on PP or Sihanokville. I am pretty close to the border, so that way a land trip might be best.
So who has been recently, and any suggestions of good hotels etc
I don't want to spend a fortune, and I don't need a 5 star place

PP is great if you just want to kick back for a few days and drink beer an visit the fleshpots if that's your thing.
Hotels are ten a penny....plenty good ones for $50 a night....closer to Sisawath Quay is better location.

Last time I was in PP was about 4 years ago, so I guess it's changed a bit. I was down by Paddy Rice Irish pub. I did enjoy the place, and Cowboy the Tuk Tuk driver was a legend, my last day went on a pub crawl before I finally got to the airport
i think PP looks liek an option then, around 5 hours drive from Had Let border

Good tips Smokie & others...many hotels all over PNH. Food wise...take your pic of any restaurant that looks good to you. I'm in PNH on the 8th for a 40th anniversary reunion taking place on the 10th. The years went by really fast. 40 years since me & mine were unceremoniously extracted from Kampooch. On the 12th the US pulled out completely. The 17th PNH fell to the KR. The 19th the KR began emptying the city and mass murdered many people and on that day...Day Zero of Year Zero entered mans vocabulary. We've had a 20, & 30 year reunion this may be our last as we're old geezers now.
You can have a good time in Phnom Penh...just stay sharp & don't do stupid shit...you'll be fine.

Just remembered my mate Wayne was in Siem Reap. This young lad was begging, and Wayne got chatting. He said his English was good. Wayne said to the lad "I think you are very funny." The lad said. "I don't care what you think, just give me 10 dollars."

Yeah, Koh Kong is very close. Funnily enough, I've never been there, only passed through on the way to PP.
Smokie, if that Pizza place is the one that I think it is, then most certainly not for me.
